Delinquent Taxes

Our office is responsible for collecting Delinquent Property Taxes with the assistance of the County Attorney who notifies the property owners of their delinquent tax bill and the process for which it can be paid.  Property tax bills in Taylor County become delinquent on April 15th of each year.  Any tax bills that have not been paid to the Taylor County Sheriff’s office would then be turned over to the clerk’s office for collection.  The county attorney will notify the property owners of delinquencies in writing.  Two letters will be sent along with an advertisement of all delinquent bills in the Central Kentucky News Journal.  If bills are still delinquent after the three notices, the bills will be offered to third party companies who can purchase the bills and place a lien on the property involved.  The bills are never sold to third party companies until August.  You can view this web-page for a complete list of delinquent tax bills and the date those bills will be offered for sale as the time comes closer.
